Big Rego Tax on Regional NSW For Sydney's Transport
alt
Once again, the people of regional NSW will be forced to dig into their pockets to pay for yet another Labor blueprint / plan / statement / strategy that totally ignores the people living outside the Sydney basin.

This week State Labor announced a new $500 million driving tax to pay for their laughable new transport plan for Sydney.

This is a great big tax on drivers throughout the State is allegedly to pay for Labor’s Sydney transport election scam. Worst of all, this plan won’t even deliver a single bus, train or road upgrade for the three million people living across regional NSW.

This new driving tax will see motorists slugged by up to $30 extra in vehicle registration fees, with owners of 4WDs and 6-8 cylinder vehicles set to lose out the most.

Motorists in NSW already pay some of the highest car registration fees in the nation and Labor’s new driving tax is just going to make matters worse.

People in regional NSW already drive roads that have received scant funding from the State Labor Government over the past 15 years. It is absolutely unjust and unwarranted to slug these people with the burden of funding the Sydney transport election scheme that they will never benefit from. Labor’s transport plan includes no new roads or public transport options for people living outside of Sydney

Labor MPs from country NSW have shown their complete lack of influence over the NSW Cabinet, and they have betrayed regional people with their consent to this great big tax on NSW motorists.

This is the 10th called plan from NSW Labor over the last 15 years. These plans have contained at least 70 projects worth billions of dollars of investment and infrastructure, yet they’ve never seen the light of day.

The NSW Liberals & Nationals believe this new driving tax is totally unfair, and I will be continue to ensure regional NSW is not overlooked by Labor.

Snap poll

After ripping more than $11.4 bn out of the energy companies is it right that NSW Labor now expects regional families to suffer a 42% increase in their bills?
